| Hello, I wanted to let you know what the Coalition4Youth is all about and who I am!! Did you know that sometimes the Council and other organisations in Brighton and Hove want to ask young people what they think! At the moment, for example, the Council are thinking about producing a proof of age card for over 16 year olds, and a filofax for young people which might have a discount card for some local shops with it. Is this a good idea? Is this something you would want or use?? How do you think this will work without young people’s involvement!! Believe it or not!! Central Government has told the Council that they have to involve young people in the decisions they make. This is where the C4Y and me come in. I have been working for nearly a year to try and get the C4Y off the ground and it has been very hard work!! My job is to get young people involved in the C4Y, set up projects, organise events, ask them about their concerns, about issues that affect them, and find ways that young people can influence decisions that are made locally . I am also trying to talk to young people about what they think of the services and facilities in Brighton and Hove. The idea is that if you share your views with service providers then you will end up with better services and facilities which you might want to use!! So, are you interested in getting more involved or receiving information about projects that I will be doing in the future? Would you be interested in feeding your ideas into the C4Y, or maybe meeting with the Council and the other services to tell them what you think??!!
